The decor is beautifully curated, creating an inviting space complemented by warm lighting and attentive staff who are dedicated to making your visit special. As one reviewer, Alix Kasten, aptly described, “the atmosphere is cozy and super gorgeous.”
The star of the show is undoubtedly the food. The menu, affectionately known as Nicos Eats, features a collection of unique taco-inspired dishes that are both creative and delicious. Favorites like The OG Rice and 405 Style Rice come packed with delectable ingredients such as capn onions, fancy sauce, banana ketchup, and grilled spam, priced at just $7 and $8 respectively. For those nursing a hangover, Ateh's Hangover Helper at $8 is a must-try with its delicious medley of scrambled eggs and banana ketchup. A splendid Friday Weekly Special keeps the menu fresh and engaging, ensuring there’s always something new to look forward to.
For seafood lovers, the reviews often highlight the freshness of the fish dishes, with Alix Kasten mentioning the “excellent fish” enjoyed during their visit. Another reviewer, Albert “No Onions” Ruggiero, praised the tempura snow crab claws and the amazing ponzu sauce that accompanied them, remarking that “everything about this place was superb.” You’ll likely want to indulge in the wagyu smash burger, priced at $50, which promises pure decadence in every bite—an experience echoed by numerous diners praising it as one of the best burgers they have ever tasted.
As you navigate the menu, consider the delightful sides—especially the French fries, which come highly recommended for their perfect crunch. Don't forget to ask for the ponzu sauce, which our friend Albert deemed a necessary accompaniment. The dining experience at Nicco's is not just about the food; it’s about the warm, engaging service that enhances every meal. Garima Verma noted the care shown by the staff, who go above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcomed and valued.
Finally, no meal would be complete without dessert. Indulge in the Butter Toffee Cake, which has been described as “heaven in every bite,” ensuring your dining experience ends on a high note. As Mark Maltz noted, “this restaurant stands head and shoulders above the rest,” and with each plate that comes out of the kitchen, it becomes evident why.
In conclusion, whether you're a local seeking a new favorite spot or a visitor wanting to taste the best of Las Vegas, Nicco's Prime Cuts & Fresh Fish certainly does not disappoint. “ Best restaurant in Durango. The atmosphere is cozy and super gorgeous. The beginning bread was excellent and dont skimp on the butter. The fish was excellent. ”
“ Everything about this place was superb from the incredibly attentive staff, to the ambience and setting of the restaurant and most importantly the food. Started with the tempura snow crab claws which were fried perfectly and came with the best ponzu sauce I have ever tasted. The ponzu sauce was so good, that I kept it to use with all the other food we tried. DEFINITELY get a side of ponzu if you get their French fries! They should automatically come with that. Next was the artichoke, which Id never had artichoke this way sliced horizontally, COVERED in Parmesan cheese and you eat the whole thing instead of just eating the meat off the leaf. Very weird but I liked it. That was followed by their take on bluefin tuna sliced thing and placed upon a semi spicy, vinegar based sauce and topped with crunchy onion straws it was heavenly. Id never tried bluefin before so I was glad I tried it. After that, we had to try their wagyu smash burger, 50 and comes with a really nice sized portion of fries. The French fries might be the best French fries Ive ever had AND they actually cooked them extra crispy for us! and the burger was just pure decadence. My gf LOVED the burger which we got plain, just the patties and cheese with chipotle mayo on the side she said it was the best burger shes ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed it too pure deliciousness in its simplicity. I wish it wasnt 50 so we could go enjoy a few of them every time we visit Vegas from now on! Lastly, we have the bone in ribeye and a side of creamed spinach. The creamed spinach wasnt mind blowing like the ones Ive had from Ruths Chris or Gallaghers but just like the cheeseburger, it was delicious in its simplicity. And the steak? Well, youve got a choice to make when you order one straight up flame grilled or marinated and then seared think pittsburghed. Our server opted for us to get it grilled and boy did it not disappoint! Take note Bavettes THIS is what a 100 steak should look and taste like. Its another item that was so delicious and simple. Simple flavorings and then cooked perfectly on a great open flame. The gf LOVED the steak and the burger, citing them as some of the best shes ever had. I thought everything was masterfully done. Like a couple of splits here in Vegas, I cant wait to come back now for that burger and fries and to try the steak the other way. Practically perfection ALL AROUND. Oh, 1 more thing I forgot they gave us a free piece of pure vanilla bean cheesecake to celebrate her birthday. It was the most pure vanilla thing Ive ever tasted in my life and it was the best whipped cream Ive ever tasted in my life. If you have the money, DEFINITELY try this place out. ”
“ Thank you Niccos for a great experience, I loved every single person I interacted with, I loved my bartender, he helped me choose my wine, it was on point. He had a great personality, helped us click some cute pictures and constantly checked on us. The General Manager of Niccos stopped by and asked how we are doing and if we like everything and I definitely noticed him going around other people to do the same which is definitely special. Being a vegetarian I didnt have many options but I tried the pasta and fries with spicy ketchup which was good and the dessert was delicious, I highly recommend trying Butter Toffee Cake its heaven in every bite. The music was great, service was exceptional, food was good, everything was on point. Just Love from Garima ”
“ I booked two reservations at Niccos on Sunday at 600 p.m. Two friendly female hosts greeted us in the front. The host took us to a table for two, where my date sat in a booth, and I sat across from her in a chair. We loved the decor and romantic vibe of the interior, and I especially loved the walled fireplace nearby. Our male waiter welcomed us and brought us food and drink menus. I dont drink alcohol, so I ordered water the waiter offered me several water options, such as sparkling water, but I only wanted regular water. My date wanted a drink. However, after looking at the menu, the drink menu listed ounces but no prices! A menu with no prices felt like a trap where my date could order a shot and get charged 250.00 or more, so she opted to get water, which she said tasted like tap water, and I agreed. The waiter tried to upsell us on some specials, and I could smell the costliness in his description, so we ordered the reasonably priced items on the menu. A different waiter brought us some complimentary sourdough bread and butter. At first, I thought the bread was overrated, but when we ate it with the butter, we thought it tasted excellent, and the butter set it off! My date wanted pasta but didnt know which one to choose, so I asked the waiter which of the two pasta dishes were most popular. The waiter said the Rigatoni alla Vodka pasta was the most popular, an excellent recommendation that my date loved! I liked the pasta I tried off her plate, too! She ordered the macaroni and cheese with bread crumbs on top for her side. I ordered the crab cake for an appetizer with two crab cakes. The crab cake was good but tasted even better with the creamy sauce! I also ordered the Lobster Bisque and Macorni and cheese and enjoyed them both! My date liked everything she tried off my plate too.. Niccos is an upscale and beautiful restaurant. The Kansas City Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game on the night we went. The restaurant got loud as the game played on several televisions, and the attendees at the bar were primarily Bills fans, hopeful they would win! The bill came out to 120.00, and I can only imagine how expensive it would have been had my date ordered a drink or we ordered a steak, fish, or the special the waiter pitched. The menu does contain reasonably priced options for upscale restaurant standards, so you dont have to break the bank unless you want to. I had a little food left over, so a waiter bagged it and put it in a beautiful togo bag even the togo bag looked posh. My date and I enjoyed our food, service, and ambiance, and I highly recommend Niccos, especially for a date night! After we left, we went to the side of the restaurant and took several beautiful photos and videos of ourselves in front of the fireplace! If you come dressed up, you can take some stunning pictures as the fireplace provides a sultry and eyecatching backdrop for your videos and photos! ”
“ A Culinary Gem in Las Vegas If youre searching for the pinnacle of dining experiences in Las Vegas, look no further. This restaurant stands head and shoulders above the rest. The chefs here are truly unparalleled, crafting each dish with an artistry that is simply unmatched. Every bite is a testament to their dedication to using only the freshest and finest ingredients. Whether youre a local or just visiting, this is a culinary journey you absolutely must embark on. Its worth leaving the strip for a sumptuous culinary experience. ”
“ Superb food. Elise our server was so refreshing. The steak was so well aged and seasoned. Could cut my filet mignon with a butter knife. Really great gem. The wagyu filet was spectacular as well as our service. Gem off the strip. Thanks for a fantastic 26th wedding anniversary dinner ”
“ Came here for a kind of last minute date night on a Monday and thankfully it wasnt crowded. The place looks really nice elegant. Our servers Marco and I think Chris were very informative attentive. Appetizers sides were amazing. The steak was nothing too special, Ive definitely had better especially for the price, but it was still good. For dessert, we got the butter cake, which was pretty good except the ice cream on top tasted bland and icy. Id definitely come back to try other food on the menu! ”
“ We came across this place because we wanted King Crab while we were at Durango and this is where we found it. We didnt have any reservations and just walked in to book a table for 2. It took approximately 45 minutes to get seated, but the good they text you when your seat is ready. They have a bar seating for you while you wait, but it was filled up when we arrived. When walking in, you may walk by the open kitchen that has their fresh fish on ice, which is also the brightest, most pronounced area in the restaurant. Along with our main objective, King Crab, the server notified us about an Australian Wagyu steak that they had in that wasnt on the menu, so we decided to order that as well. We also ordered Artichokes alla Romana and Potato Puree with it as well. The star of the show was for sure the King Crab as they give you 5 big pieces, pre opened so its easier to eat. The Wagyu was really good as well and prepared with a nice crust on it. Of the two sides, Potato Puree was pretty good, but I would opt for another side in the future. But the reason why it wasnt as good is because everything else we had was pretty fatty altogether. Overall, if youre trying to splurge at Durango, this is youire spot. They have a variety of options to choose from whether youre looking for something from the sea or from the land. They also have an extensive drink menu that even includes Japanese Whiskey in it. ”
